Below, you’ll find 6 rides in Penticton which combine fun, exercise and an awesome rental bike from Epic Cycling.

1. The Kettle Valley Railway Trail

Our most popular recreational cycling trail is the world famous Kettle Valley Railway Trail. Stretching 650 km, the track was once the longest rail network in Western Canada. It’s now heaven for cyclists with dirt, gravel, a few easy hills and a load of fun. The Naramata section of the trail is easy to get to, just outside Penticton. Look for signs to Naramata or ask the team at Epic for directions.

2. Naramata Bench

Cruise your way along the The Naramata bench and gaze at over 40 wineries and some great distilleries along the way. Stop in for some tastings and enjoy all varieties from deep, full-bodied reds to awesome white and sparkling wine. If you’d like a guide, hire Epic Cycling for a customized cycling tour!

3. Penticton

There’s so much to see and do in beautiful Penticton. Ride through downtown for some shopping or stop in to one of our famous restaurants. If you’re here on a Saturday, the Penticton market has amazing local fare and the friendliest people. And you can ride from Okanagan Beach to Skaha Beach in less than an hour on our awesome bike lanes.

4. Penticton Channel

The Channel pathway is a convenient and easy ride from Okanagan Lake to Skaha Lake. This ride is approximately 6 kilometers from one end to the other. During the summer, watch the channel tubers cruise by – you may be inspired to join them!

5. Okanagan Falls

This is a slightly longer cruise but it’s totally worth it to experience the warmth and beauty of this area. Located at the southern tip of our lovely Skaha Lake, there are small falls which flow into the Okanagan River. Come and see the beautiful sandy beaches and parks. Cross the Okanagan Falls Trestle Bridge then reward yourself with great wine and coffee when you arrive.

6. Take an Ale Ride

Penticton forms the epi-centre of the Okanagan craft beer scene and is home to the annual Okanagan Fest of Ale. Ride through town and stop at each of our eight breweries: Tin Whistle Brewery, the Barley Mill Brewpub, Cannery BrewingNeighborhood Brewing, Slackwater Brewing, and the Abandoned Rail Brewing on the KVR Trail. And don’t forget cider! Try both old and new world cider-making techniques from cideries like La Petite Abeille, Naramata Cider Company and Creek & Gully.
