Wonderful Experience! Let’s face it, anyone can ride to a winery, sample some wines and have a meal. Few can pull together a complete experience like this though. My tour went through some backroads I had no idea existed. The group had a mixed level of cyclists. It didn’t matter. The guides could pull you through the headwinds if you wanted or push you hard on sprints. Food was great, wine was stellar and the cycling spot on. Highly recommend this group. This is way more fun than hopping on a tour bus and stopping at half a dozen wineries.

Epic Cycling Tour We have been on a lot of bike tours and even run a few ourselves. Epic did a great job, the wine and cider stops were excellent, the food and wine were awesome. The ride was good, challenging, but not too challenging...although there was one hill that some will definitely have a problem with, a few walked up it..but it was relatively short. They have found some really good vendors to stop at, we know the Okanagan very well and these were stops that all will really enjoy. Overall, it is a ride that will appeal to a wide cross section of riders...but make sure you let them know what kind of rider you are, so that you get the ride that suits your ability.

Cycling Fun! We contacted Epic Cycling to organize a bike tour for 6 of us in the Penticton area. Tamara designed an amazing custom tour just for us. She organized everything from our accommodation, wine tasting, lovely vineyard picnics, and restaurant bookings. Tamara also drove the support van and would meet us at every stop with water, cold towels (I loved those!), smiles, and encouragement. The van was indispensable for carrying all of our wine purchases. Our guides, Ann and Rob, were truly amazing. They are very accomplished athletes who are so knowledgeable about biking and the area but also manage to be down to earth and a lot of fun. We would absolutely book with Epic again!

Epic Cycling is the best!! Great location and the bikes are awesome. Right at the Kettle Valley Beach Resort on Lakeshore Drive. Our group rented bikes and got great recommendations for our ride. We stopped at some great wineries off the KVR. The staff is very knowledgeable and super helpful. 5-stars across the board!

The whole process was quick, easy and completely hassle-free. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful, making us feel trusted from the moment we arrived. Everything was explained clearly, and the bikes were ready to go. The bikes were in excellent condition and made for a fantastic day exploring the area. If you’re looking for a reliable, professional and genuinely friendly bike rental shop in Penticton, we highly recommend Epic Cycling. We would definitely rent from them again.

Epic ride with epic cycling Rode a 70 km ride in May with Epic cycling. My ride leader was great. At the end of the ride I was starting to get a bit tired and the leader made sure to ride with me and encouraged me until I got my second wind. The owners Darcy and Tamara were very attentive to us all and were there to guide and support us the whole ride. Ride was beautiful terrain with some challenging hills included. Great choice of two wineries and cidery. Totally recommend this. It won't disappoint!

Above and Beyond with Customer Service. My husband and I along with my son and his gf recently rented e bikes to do the Kettle Valley Trail in Penticton. The rental process was efficient and well organized. I ended up having an issue with my bike about 20 minutes into the trip (100% my fault!) and I was beyond pleased at how well it was dealt with. I was able to get a new cycle in a reasonable amount of time to allow my husband and I to continue our journey to Little Tunnel and enjoy the days plans. I will continue to recommend Epic Cyling to anyone interested in bike rentals in the Okanagan. They truly care about the customer experience…HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Best way to see the vineyards What an amazing trip with Darcy and Tamara and the best way to see the vineyards. We had a great ride and a tonne of fun with the crew. We met near town and were straight onto the Kettle Valley Trail. We rode up to Arawana - gentle 2% grade uphill to the lookout and then it was down hill to the first vineyard for tastings and an amazing curated lunch put on by Tamara. These guys have got it dialed in. We ride on bikes and they have a support truck that meets you along the way with water and anything we needed. Any wine purchases go in the back of the truck so you're free to peddle and enjoy the incredible views. They select the vineyards for each trip so you're always going to get something different and very fun. They also know the operators so you get looked after well at the vineyards. Darcy was a great lead and made sure everyone was okay on the ride. It's an easy ride for pretty much anyone and they'll pace the ride to the group. When some of the group has ebikes the rest of us worked a bit harder ;) Thoroughly recommended and the highlight of the vacation.

The best experience in Penticton Darcy and Tamara gave us the best experience of our trip. The group had varied levels of cycling ability from beginner to advanced yet we all had a ton of fun and a great ride. Awesome food and great wine tastings we wouldn’t have known about make this tour a cut above and it’s so well organized from start to finish. The thought, knowledge of the area and friendly attitude Epic Cycling brings to each ride makes for an unbeatable day in beautiful Penticton. We’ll definitely be back.

Fabulous Winery Tour On Bike For All Skill Levels This was my first bike tour ever, let alone winery tour. I decided to go when I found out that the tour would accept cyclists of all skill levels, because when I first heard of this tour I pictured a slow, leisurely pace - which could be fantastic for many people - but for me I was hoping to have something a little faster through the (beautiful) hills of Penticton. I was assured by the owners Tamara and Darcy that they would have different categories of groups based on skill lever, and ride leaders that could accommodate even the racier guys like me. The Epic Cycling website told me everything else I could want to know, and I was on my way with the beautiful sunshine forecasted for that day. The morning rendezvous was a short meet and greet with the other cyclists, the leaders and the owners of Epic Cycling. Cyclists were then asked to choose their ride leaders based on their skill level. Nutrition and water was available, and the setup was simple - yet completely effective. We were on our way. My leader was great, and based on my skill level, we were actually able to make our routes to all the stops longer than that of the other groups because we could cover more distance due to our speed. Yet the entire day, all of the groups met up with each other almost always within 5 minutes of each other at the designated stops. It was really great as you never had to wait around for the other cyclists and gave it a better 'group' feel to it. The three stops we had along the way were all fantastic. Before we arrived they were prepared for us. Tables, if needed were all set and ready to go, and the wine tasting and food was ready to serve. I'm not much of a drinker myself, but, by the amount of wine and cider that the cyclists were purchasing from all the stops I have to assume it was all top notch product. And that brings up something else important. There is a sag vehicle provided for the tour. If there was any bikes that needed repair, sun lotion, or anyone needed any sort of help there was a vehicle close by for support. This also meant that people could purchase their alcohol, and the vehicle would tag it all and carry it for them until the end of the tour. Well done. The actual route, I thought couldn't get any better. It's definitely not easy, and while there were a couple ladies wearing running shoes on their bikes (And they did just fine) every other cyclist had clip in shoes. BTW, Epic said that they have rental bikes and equipment ready through local shops if any guests don't have their own. So, while I wouldn't say the ride was easy, there was a fair amount of flat sections, and even downhills. Of course, that means there are uphills too. I saw a few people struggling on some of the hills - but I believe the tour routes do adjust from time to time depending on rider feedback. Having never ridden in Penticton though, it was really, really nice. There was not a single traffic stop light on the entire 70km route. A couple stop signs, but that's it. Traffic was minimal, even for a weekend and it really helped to relax you so you can enjoy the sights and sounds out there. If you're anything more than an extremely casual cyclist, you probably have Strava and after the ride you could see the people who you rode with that day, or chatted with during meals and by the end of the tour I had some new Strava buddies which was great (if you're into that). Having done this now, I'd be willing to go back with some more racing buddies to have a great day hammering between stops up through the hills, and yet at the same time I'd be happy to head out for a more casual tour with a loved one and really soak up that sun and atmosphere of the larger groups. You have to try it, or at least check them out as it's totally worth it.

Rented four bikes here that are pedal assist. Not sure I quite understood the instructions as the initial start to get to the KVR trail is uphill and I struggled a lot eventually having to push my bike until I figured it out. That said the instructions were pretty clear. I just didn’t understand. Reservation was easy and things went exactly as they said they would when I rented on the phone. I appreciated the prompt service, the instruction, and the direction on how to get to where I was going. All in all good experience.

Very friendly service. I got 2 hours to ride the E bike. Here a few things to know. The E bikes are not rear wheel drive they are mid drive. This give you a more natural bike ride feel. With rear wheel it will come with a throttle. Theses bikes don't. You will need to adjust the gear setting to get it up to speed. This is a great idea for the general public since the speed is more gradual.

Epic! My wife saw her sister’s post on their family Kettle Vally Railway cycle tour with Epic. As we are avid cyclists we checked if there were more sporting tours and indeed Epic offered a 100km wine tour ride. Communication was excellent from the time of booking. We met our hosts, Darcy and Tamara, and ride guide Ann and they were wonderful. The ride was fully supported with snacks, water and support vehicle at several stops. Three wonderful wineries were visited with a delicious lunch included at the third. We had to buy some of the wine which was conveniently transported in our support vehicle. It was truly a luxury level of support. The vistas were gorgeous with lakes and wine country back roads. Highly recommended!

E-biking the Kettle Valley Railway trail. My wife and I rented e-bikes from Darwin at Epic Cycling’s pop-up location on Lakeshore Drive in Penticton for a day in early June. The weather was pleasant with a cool wind off the lake, perfect for cycling the KVR. We had pretty much a perfect day. The bikes performed flawlessly and once we got the hang of the gearing we made good speed up the KVR past Little Tunnel to the parking lot at Glenfir where we turned around and headed back to Penticton, stopping for refreshment at the Abandoned Rail Pub, just off the trail close to Penticton. Next time we’ll leave at 9:00 AM, pack a lunch and see if we can get to the Adra Tunnel above Naramata. We made it back with over 50% charge left for 5.5 hours so we could have gone a lot further. Highly recommended.

Weekend Cycling trip This is my second time riding with Epic. i was able to get a group of my friends who are avid cylists to join me. It was so much fun riding with the ride leader and my friends. We went to Wild Goose, Noble and Church States wineries. it did not feel like biking at all but a lot of wine tasting and eating. we rode from Osoyoos to Wild Goose Winery and back and it was about 95km. Tamara was top notch and her attending to detail was outstanding. She even supplied me with Tylenol when she found out that i had back problem. Thanks again for making the tour extra special for me and my friends.

Great for tourists and locals We had a large group of mixed rider experience with us. The day was organized so well. We were able to explore some local sights as well as sneak in some winery and brewery stops and a beautifully elevated picnic lunch. All the bikes were in excellent condition and great quality. Safety gear and water was provided. We had two bike guides with us who were interactive and ensured everyone stayed safe. We also had access to a support vehicle for carrying items or if anyone needed a biking break. I highly recommend booking Epic Cycling for your next group adventure.

Mother’s Day Weekend Tour Wow. Epic cycling tours can be described in just that one word! I’m not an “avid” cyclist by any means but joined a group of people and didn’t feel left behind or disregarded. The ride is so well organized and coordinated that they have different group leaders for each skill level. Needless to say, don’t let the intensity of distance detour you. I did a 70km ride in my runners! If you’re in the area, enjoy bike riding, wine tasting, laughing and a beautiful scenic view - do not miss the opportunity to take this experience!! Friendly smiling faces host you the entire time and have all the appropriate gear, drink, snacks should you need anything! Definitely will be back! Thank you guys for such an awesome time!

FAQ

E-Bike Rental

In June, July, August and September, yes. We sell out on peak days, so book on line or call a day week ahead to get the right size. Walk-ins are welcome whenever bikes are available, and 2-hour rentals are walk-in only.

If you can ride a bike, you can ride one of ours. We fit the bike to you, set the assist level, and ride a lap of the parking lot with you before you leave, and a second lap if you want it. The motor only works while you pedal, so it feels like a normal bike with a tailwind.

Both are pedal-assist bikes that help you up to 32 km/h; the difference is fit. The Trek Verve+ 3 comes in Small (5’0″ to 5’3″), Medium (5’4″ to 5’10”) and Large (5’11” to 6’3″). The Norco Indie VLT is lighter, has a dropper post, and comes in Medium (5’3″ to 5’10”) and Large (5’11” to 6’2″). Tell us your height when you book and the right one will be ready.

Further than a rental day, though you need to manage the battery. In Eco or Tour mode a full charge covers every ride on our Where to go page, including Little Tunnel and back at 38 km, with plenty in reserve. Turbo mode on a long climb uses it faster, so we show you the range readout before you leave. If you ever run out of battery, the bike still pedals home like a normal bike.

Assist cuts out at 32 km/h, the BC limit for pedal-assist e-bikes. You do not need a licence, registration or insurance. You do need to be 16 or older and wear a helmet, which BC law requires and we include.

Call us at 604-626-5167 and we will sort it out. Do not ride on a flat: a rolled rim is what turns a free fix into a charge. Bikes are due back at the time on your booking and late returns are $25 per 15 minutes, so ring ahead if the winery lunch runs long. Helmet and lock are included; a pannier pack is $10 and a water bottle is $5.

The credit card you booked with, ID if we ask, closed-toe shoes and comfortable active clothing. Every rider signs our release of liability; we send it with your booking confirmation so you can sign it on your phone before you arrive, or if you forget we will ask you when you come for your bike. Helmets are included, so bring your own only if you prefer it.

The KVR trailhead is 3.5 km from the shop, and nine routes start at our door: the flat channel path, the Lake-to-Lake lane, the KVR to the Naramata Bench wineries, Little Tunnel and further. Each one has a distance, a time and a Google Maps link on the Where to go page, and we load your ride onto your phone before you leave.

A non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking, with the remaining balance payable prior to your rental. All payments are non-refundable if you cancel or are unable to attend for any reason, including weather, wildfire, smoke, road closures, natural disasters, travel disruptions, illness, or other circumstances beyond your control. If we are unable to operate the rental due to unsafe conditions or circumstances beyond our control, we will contact you regarding available options. If you will be more than 30 minutes late, please contact us as we may release your bikes.

Yes. Lock it every time you step away, even on a winery patio; the lock is included. Normal wear is on us. Crash damage, riding on a flat tire, and a bike stolen are charged at repair or replacement cost.
